Monster Island, The Asylum's 2019 mockbuster, was released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It's about an island, Monster Island, where a monster lives.


Asylum has the budget of a huge kid's meal and utilizes it wisely, concentrating on a few human characters and keeping its big celebrities in one set where all their sequences can be recorded during lunch break. This is the kaiju genre, so maybe The Asylum won't do (site) too badly.
